                    Local 1000/CSEA Delegates

Responsibilities of the Election Committee:

The Election Committee administers the election of delegates. Their work follows the SEIU Local 1000 policy file and accepted procedures. The Election Committee approves the nomination form, ensures that policy file deadlines are met, communicates election procedures to the candidates, oversees the ballot count, and notifies candidates of the results.

Role of Delegates in the Organization:

The primary function of delegates is to represent SEIU Local 1000 at the California State Employees Association (CSEA) General Council joining delegates from the California State University Employees Union, the Association of California State Supervisors and the CSEA Retirees. At General Council, all delegates vote to elect CSEA officers, adopt the Association’s 3-year budget, and accept or reject proposed changes to the organization’s bylaws. SEIU Local 1000 delegates will vote on the 3-year budget for Local 1000.

General Council will be held at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles during the Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 – 7.
