Local 1000 member negotiators are awaiting a response from the governor's bargaining team after delivering our comprehensive counterproposal for settlement Tuesday evening.
Our settlement package addresses key issues, including salaries, the Personal Leave Program (PLP), pensions, holidays and overtime, and the length of the agreement.

Our negotiators spent the past week in discussions with the state on a framework for settlement. The discussions were necessary after our bargaining team first presented a comprehensive settlement package that the state countered with a proposal that failed to address any of our key issues.
Local 1000 President Yvonne Walker and our bargaining team are again calling on members to increase actions throughout the state, demanding a fair contract and no minimum wage. Already this month, members have participated in nearly 150 worksite actions and rallies.
