Dear Michael in San Diego,
Local 1000-sponsored legislation:
AB 1699 (Hernandez) - On Senate Third Reading
A bill that would continuous appropriate funds for public employees' salaries if no budget is passed by June 15 remains on the Third Reading file where it is awaiting amendments, at the request of Republicans, to include all state vendors as well as state employees. This bill will be heard on the Senate floor soon.
AB 1827 (Arambula/Solorio) - Held in committee
A bill that will allow EDD to adjust its existing resources to give out-of-work Californians the option of in-person unemployment insurance assistance in one-stop career centers was held in the Senate Appropriations suspense file. We are working with leadership to address this issue in the budget package.
AB 1899 (Eng) - Passed committee on a 7 - 4 vote
A bill that codifies the Governor's Executive Orders on Transparency in Government and requires state agencies, the Department of General Services, and the Office of the State Chief Information Officer to post audits and contracts to the state's Reporting Transparency in Government Internet website passed from the Senate Appropriations suspense file to the Senate Floor.
AB 2494 (Blumenfield) - Passed committee on a 7 - 4 vote
