Election Timeline:
Jan. 2, 2008 Nomination forms mailed to all members. First day nomination forms will be accepted at Local 1000 Headquarters.
Feb 12, 2008 Completed nomination form and candidate’s 100-word written statement must be received no later than Feb 12, 2008 - 5:00 p.m. (Faxed forms and candidate statements will be accepted at 916-552-1282 only).
Feb. 25, 2008 Mail notification of election to uncontested nominees.
Mar. 3, 2008 Last day to withdraw candidacy by faxing or sending a signed and dated letter to Elections Committee, SEIU Local 1000, 1808 14th Street, Sacramento, 95811 or fax 916-554-1282.
Monday, March 10 Letter to candidates – order on ballot and how to request a phone list.
Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Dead line for receipt of letter requesting phone list.
Friday, March 21 Phone lists mailed to candidates.
April 20, 2008 Ballots mailed by April 20, 2008.
May 1, 2008 First day to request duplicate ballots – 1-800-506-1434.
May 20, 2008 5:00 p.m. deadline for receipt of ballots by U.S .Postal Service at 1321 Howe Avenue, Ste. 200, Sacramento. No walk-ins are accepted.
May 21 2008 Opening of ballot envelopes – 9:00 a.m., 1321 Howe Avenue, Ste. 200, Sacramento. Observers welcome.
May 22, 2008 Ballot Count, 10:00 am, 1321 Howe Avenue, Ste. 200, Sacramento. Observers welcome.
May 30, 2008 Official results mailed to candidates.
May 31, 2008 Election protest period begins.
June 10, 2008 5:00 p.m. deadline for receipt of election protests sent to: Attn. Jim Hard, President, SEIU Local 1000, 1808 14th Street, Sacramento, Ca 95811
June 25, 2008 Results of protest committee’s findings mailed to all parties.
