General Council Delegate Deadline

Nomination forms due by Feb. 24 at Local 1000 HQ

If you are interested in serving as a delegate at the Local 1000 /CSEA General Council in 2012, your completed nomination packet must be received by Feb. 24 at Local 1000 headquarters in Sacramento.
 
To find out if a District Labor Council (DLC) has a delegate vacancy, click here. There you can also download a nomination form. The form and a candidate statement of up to 100 words must be received at Local 1000 headquarters (1808 14th Street, Sacramento, CA 95811) by 5 p.m. on Feb.24. Nomination material may be emailed to local1000elections@seiu1000.org, faxed to 916.554.1282, delivered or mailed to Local 1000 headquarters.

Nominations open for vacant General Council delegates

delegate_elections_atu.jpgThere is still time for you to help out your union by running for vacant delegate positions to the three-day General Council, which starts Aug. 31.


The open nomination period to fill vacant District Labor Council (DLC) delegate positions at General Council (GC) begins Feb. 1.

You can download and print out your General Council delegate nomination form here [PDF]. There, you can also see which DLCs have vacant delegate positions and where that DLC is located.

Submit your completed General Council delegate nomination form and your 100-word candidate statement by fax (916.554.1282), email - Local1000elections@seiu1000.org or traditional mail to 1808 14th St., Sacramento, CA 95811.

Nomination forms must be completed and received at Local 1000 headquarters in Sacramento by 5 p.m., Feb. 24. If you have additional questions, email Local1000elections@seiu1000.org.

Below are those members who submitted a timely nomination form for SEIU International Delegate.  Ballots will be mailed March 12, 2012.  Sixty delegates will be chosen to attend the SEIU Internatinal Convention in Denver, Colorado, May 27 - May 31, 2012.

Delegate Election Process

Hand raisedSEIU Local 1000 is combining both SEIU International and California State Employees Association (CSEA) General Council (GC) delegate elections because both conventions are being held in 2012.  SEIU International convention will be held in Denver, Colorado on May 27-30, 2012; and, CSEA/SEIU 1000 General Council will be held in Los Angeles on August 31 to September 2, 2012.  

These elections are administered by the Elections Committee made up of four Local 1000 members. Committee members are Chair, Melinda Wood, Bridget Jacobo, Karen Jefferies, and Judy Kong. We also have an e-mail address dedicated solely to the elections:  Local1000Elections@seiu1000.org.
