DLC 749 Updates

We’ve had a busy spring with member meetings in Crescent City, Eureka, and Santa Rosa.  Our members are stepping up to learn more about their rights by taking steward training classes from SEIU Local 1000 Union Representatives Joe Wildman and Daniel Solnit. 

The last weekend in June finds our District Bargaining Unit Representatives in Sacramento for the SBAC meetings.  Each of our units is represented at these important and our members can contact any of the DBURs for the latest information on bargaining. 

We continue to face many issues in the workplace:  outsourcing is a huge problem that affects all bargaining units; mandatory out of town training; inappropriate IDLs; scandalous personnel policies; post and bid issues; safety classification for our unit 4 people who work ‘behind the wire’; flexible vacation rights; 20-20 programs.  Please contact any of your union leaders and/or the Union Resource Center for assistance with a contract violation you have experienced.  We are here to assist.
