Sacramento Bargaining Town Hall Draws Hundreds of Members

With contract negotiations just around the corner, hundreds of SEIU Local 1000 members came to make their voices heard at our first Bargaining Town Hall on January 21 in Sacramento. Attendees met with statewide leaders and our bargaining team to learn more about the process of winning a good contract and to share their priorities about what they’d like to see in that contract.

“I’m fighting for a good contract because we deserve Essential Worker Pay,” said Jane Schafer-Kramer, a Unit 1 member from DLC 768. Britton Sarmento, from Unit 14 and DLC 782, told the team that a good contract “makes upward mobility more accessible.”
