Rally at the Capitol on August 27 to Demand Our Rights and Protect Our Represented Employees
We’re fighting to enforce our contract. We’re fighting to protect our union. And we’re fighting for our represented employees in Lassen County

On Friday, August 27, the represented employees of SEIU Local 1000 will stand strong against the Governor’s efforts to ignore and violate our hard-earned contract rights. From 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., we will make our voices heard and tell Governor Newsom, the Legislature, and those like Tim Draper, who want to see the demise of our union, that we will protect and enforce our contract!

Local 1000 to Host CalPERS Board of Director Candidates Debate on August 17

SEIU Local 1000 members work in hundreds of different industries across California in hundreds of different roles, all focused on building a future for California that works for everyone. The future for all state workers, however, comes down to their pension, retirement, and health benefits, which are managed by the CalPERS Board of Administration.

Fighting for justice in the workplace is the primary goal of member leaders at SEIU Local 1000. Pete Garza, an SEIU International Delegate and Job Steward at CDCR, knew this the minute he got involved with his union. “I wanted to become a steward to help my work area fight bad management,” he said. “My priorities are to create a bully free and fair working environment.”
