Join the fight for respect and a livable wage during the Hot Union Summer
As our bargaining team fights for a good contract at the negotiating table, the State continues to disrespect us as we negotiate for a living wage for our workers.
The State offered another shameful, lowball pay raise offer, moving from 6% to 7%. We knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but nothing worth fighting for comes easy. And so, the fight continues!
Know Your Rights: You have the right to take action with an informational picket
While the State continues to disrespect us as we fight for a living wage, we’re escalating our actions in the worksites to make our demand as visible as possible.
We’ve launched the Hot Union Summer, a series of informational pickets, with a goal of creating 1,000 pickets by August 14. You’re encouraged to join a picket or to create one for your worksite.
Providing Real Representation for our Members is a Local 1000 Priority
Our contract contains hundreds of provisions that govern our wages, working conditions, and benefits. Those hard-won rights are protected and enforced by members and staff, including our job stewards, our Member Resource Center, and our Union Resource Center. If you have an issue or believe your rights are being violated, contact your workplace steward and let’s work together to solve your issues. Here are some recent examples of members working with their union to win!
