New Member Program Builds Strength
We’re working to shape the future we want for our jobs, our families and our communities. More than 100 member leaders from across the state gathered in October to launch our comprehensive New Member Program, a statewide effort to communicate union values and the benefits of joining a member-led union to new state hires, as well as those already in state service.

We helped drive historic voter turnout…and we won!
After a year of town halls, endorsements, phone banking and precinct walking, we have a new Congress in D.C., a new governor, and new and returning progressive leaders in California’s constitutional offices. 75% of our endorsed candidates won, and our members made a real difference for working families and the communities we live in.

Historic IT Reclass Approved by SPB
More than 8,000 Information Technology work-ers represented by Local 1000 were impacted by a sweeping reclassification of decades-old job specifications into a modern system that rec-ognizes the modern skill sets of state IT workers and provides a path for upward mobility. Our IT Reclass Team, backed by members in the work-place, achieved success after a two-year battle.
