SEIU Local 1000 COVID-19 Resources
SEIU Local 1000 has been in regular communication with Governor Newsom’s administration, CalHR, and state departments to ensure that CDPH and CDC guidelines are being followed and that our members’ health and safety are at the forefront of decision-making during this time of crisis.
We have developed a set of principles to guide our conversations with the various state agencies and departments. These principles reflect our purpose, our values, and our fundamental belief that employers should:
- Protect employees from financial hardship during a time of crisis
- Develop and implement telework policies and flexible work schedules wherever possible
- Provide employees the necessary equipment to do our jobs and the proper environment to remain safe in the process
- Communicate regularly and often with employees to educate, empower, and reduce the spread of the virus
There are resources available to supplement what departments are providing and to educate our members and the public on the most up-to-date information concerning COVID-19.
