Last week was again busy as we continue the work needed to deliver a strong contract for SEIU Local 1000 in 2023.
DMV Employees – Help Us Monitor the First Phase of Dayforce Timekeeping
Our Union Team has met with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) management on several occasions regarding the planned implementation of the new Dayforce electronic timekeeping system, and while our discussions continue, the rollout of Phase 1 of the trial is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1.
Sacramento-area offices will be the first impacted.
Agreement Reached to Mitigate the Impacts of CCC/Susanville Closure
The SEIU Local 1000 Bargaining Team—made up of a number of directly impacted employees and the Bargaining Unit Chairs for those Units— have reached an agreement with the State outlining the process, eligibility and support that our represented employees will have if they choose to participate in the Voluntary Transfer Process (VTP) in advance of the June 20, 2023 closure of the California Correctional Facility (CCC) in Susanville.

At Local 1000, we believe politics matter.
Our State lawmakers create and vote on legislation that affects us at work, at home, and in our communities. We want worker-friendly politicians at every level to make those decisions.
Those same lawmakers are responsible for approving our contract.
