SEIU Local 1000 is currently recruiting candidates for our second cohort of the Financial Services Apprenticeship Program. This cohort of the Financial Services Apprenticeship Program is offered jointly by SEIU Local 1000, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), California Highway Patrol (CHP), California Department of Parks and Recreation (CDPR), California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), Department of General Services (DGS), Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Employment Development Department (EDD), and American River College (ARC). This program is designed to provide state employees, who meet specific criteria, with financial education, skills, and experience.
If selected, apprentices enter a Training and Development Assignment in a financial services classification for a period of up to two years. During this time, they receive on-the-job training within their current department and related instruction in accounting and auditing through American River College. At the conclusion of the program, apprentices will meet the minimum qualifications to apply to an Accountant Trainee, Tax Auditor, or Tax Compliance Representative classification!
How to apply:
In order to apply, you must complete and submit the Financial Services Apprenticeship Program Application following the steps below. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 25, 2021. Interviews will be held this summer, and classes are scheduled to begin as early as August 2021. Incomplete applications will not be considered. In order to apply, you must do the following:
- Apply to American River College for the Fall 2021 semester here.
- Complete and submit the Apprenticeship Application online or via mail.
