Community Power Team Sets Coat Drive for November 14

Post

Building stronger communities is a Local 1000 value, and we work every day to build the power necessary to achieve a good life for all Californians.

As a prime example of our continuing effort to improve the quality of life for each of us, the Local 1000 Community Power Team will be holding a coat drive on Saturday, November 14.

With colder, damp weather on the horizon, we are soliciting new or lightly used winter coats, including women’s and children’s jackets, as well as tents, tarps, new socks and hygiene products.

Participants will be able to drop off all donations in the SEIU Local 1000 parking lot at 1808 14th Street in Sacramento on the 14th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

If you are unable to make it on that date, we encourage you to email communitypower@seiu1000.org to coordinate pickup or drop-off of your items. In addition, we will be accepting drop offs at the Local 1000 offices anytime during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) prior to November 14.

The Community Power Team is also organizing a holiday breakfast service on November 24 at Loaves and Fishes at 1351 North C Street in Sacramento.
