How to Apply for an SEIU International Delegate Position

Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply using our online nomination process, starting Monday, November 6. You’ll be asked to fill out your nomination submission and to include your optional, 50-word (maximum) candidate statement.

All candidates in the 2024 SEIU International Delegate election are expected to abide by the Election Conduct standards set forth in Division 12 of SEIU Local 1000’s Policy File. A copy of those conduct standards can be reviewed here.

Completed application materials will also be accepted by email: local1000elections@seiu1000.org; via fax at: 916.554.1295; or by mail* at: “Election Staff, c/o SEIU Local 1000, 1808 14th Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

*Due to the volume of submissions received, mailed submissions may require additional processing time. Candidates are therefore encouraged to utilize the online nomination process or submit their candidate materials via email or fax.


Key Delegate Election Dates

November 6 – Nomination period begins
December 6 – Nomination period closes
December 15 – Balloting period begins
January 16, 2024 – Ballots due by mail; 5:00 p.m. deadline
January 17-18, 2024 – Ballots opened, sorted, counted. Observers welcome.
January 26, 2024 – Final results posted
