Local 1000 members statewide join millions across the nation to stand up and be heard

Women’s March 2019: Truth to Power

 In six cities across the state, our members stood together with women across the nation to declare “the women’s wave is here, and we’re sweeping the world forward with us.” The call rang out nationwide in the fight to embrace diversity, empower women, fight injustice, support immigration and to protect the environment. 

Women’s Empowerment Committee Chair Tracie Kimbrough called out our member leaders who served as captains in each city: Ruth Kiker (Redding), Amy Valdez and Angela Hawkins (Riverside), Misty Del Rosario (L.A.), Shelia Byars and Crystal McCray (Sacramento), Dorrie Steadman (San Diego) and Renee LaTour (Fresno).
