Building Self-Care and Compassion: Reflections & Actions

SEIU Local 1000 is sharing the following information on a class sponsored by the Nurses Alliance of SEIU California which you may find of interest.

Nurses Alliance of SEIU California invites you to join for a two-part series where together we practice ways to care for ourselves, support our peers, and begin to transform our work cultures. Through short theory bursts, small and large group dialogue, and self-care practices we will discover how caring for self is essential to caring for others and creating caring/healing environments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Create a safe space for sharing thoughts and emotions related to the twin pandemic.
  • Understand the value of self-awareness and compassion as a prerequisite for self-care and ethical and professional practice.
  • Explore essential practices that can be a foundation for self-care.
  • Acknowledge caring for self, as essential to caring for others, to create caring/healing environments.
