Is permanent telework a possibility?
President Walker testifies at the Little Hoover Commission

The COVID-19 pandemic forced California into a radical experiment. Tens of thousands of workers transitioned to working from home last spring. Today, nearly three in four state employees are working remotely.

California’s Little Hoover Commission—an independent government oversight agency—is examining the potential for a permanent shift to remote work.

President Yvonne R. Walker testified before the commission on November 5 and spoke to the opportunities and the challenges of permanent teleworking for our members.

“As we move this telework policy, we have to make sure we are moving in a way that is equitable and fair for everyone,” testified President Walker.
