Leadership elections – Available Positions
Eligible stewards, meeting the established eligibility criteria, may nominate for and run for one (1) position from the list below:
Local 1000 statewide officers
President
The duties of the president include administering the affairs of
Local 1000, be the Local 1000 representative on the CSEA Board of
Directors, carry out the policies, procedures, strategic plans
and programs of the Local 1000 council, and shall perform other
duties as set forth in Policy File section 3CSD0.03.
Vice President/Secretary-Treasurer
The vice president/secretary-treasurer shall assist the president
in administering the affairs of Local 1000, serve as chief
financial officer, be a Local 1000 representative to the CSEA
Board of Directors, and shall perform other duties as set forth
in Policy File section 3CSD0.03.
District Labor Council (DLC) officers
DLC President
The DLC president shall be responsible for the activities of the
DLC, ensure proper administration of the DLC, and shall perform
other duties as set forth in Policy File section 4CSD0.05.
DLC Vice President
The vice president is responsible for the administration of the
contract enforcement program and shall perform other duties as
set forth in Policy File section 4CSD0.05.
DLC Secretary/Treasurer
The secretary/treasurer is the financial officer of the DLC and
shall perform other duties as set forth in Policy File section
4CSD0.05 (1-7)
If the DLC has divided the office of Secretary/Treasurer, then the duties shall be as follows:
DLC Treasurer
The DLC Treasurer shall coordinate the financial records of the
DLC with Local 1000 and shall perform other duties as set forth
in Policy File section 4CSD0.05 (2), (I to V).
DLC Secretary
The DLC secretary shall maintain minutes of all DLC meetings and
shall perform other duties as set forth in Policy File section
4CSD0.05.
Worksite Locals
Local Senior Steward
The senior steward is responsible for all activities of their
local within the DLC.
Local Secretary/Treasurer
The secretary/treasurer shall maintain minutes of all worksite
union meetings and prepare the budget with the assistance of the
senior steward.
District Bargaining Unit Representative
DBUR
Each DLC shall have at least one (1) DBUR from each bargaining
unit within the jurisdiction of the DLC, with the exception of
Unit 14 and Unit 21, where five (5) DBURs are elected statewide.
DBURs participate in Statewide Bargaining Advisory Committee
(SBAC) meetings and elect the BUNC, the Chair, Vice Chair, and
Alternate Vice Chair of the units they represent.
DBURs are the representative for the bargaining support program and shall perform other duties as set forth in Policy File section 4CSD0.06.
Classification Bargaining Unit Representative
CBUR
CBURs are the representatives for Unit 1 classifications in the
bargaining support program and are elected statewide based on
their respective classification group and geographic region.
CBURs participate in Statewide Bargaining Advisory Committee
(SBAC) meetings and, with the Unit 1 DBURs, elect the BUNC, the
Chair, Vice Chair, and Alternate Vice Chair.
CBURs serve as the conduit for information from the SBAC and the BUNC to their classification group/committee and participate in bargaining campaign activities and membership recruitment activities.
