Unit 11 Bargaining Update for Wednesday, August 21st, 2019
Unit 11 Bargaining Team Reaches Tentative Agreements on Professional Differentials, Footwear Allowance.

Post

Our Unit 11 bargaining team continued their negotiations with the state and on Wednesday, August 21, reached tentative agreements (TA) on several issues.

“Our work today recognizes the professional status of Unit 11 members,” said Brad Willis, Unit 11 bargaining chair. “We also maintained the footwear allowance for those whose jobs require safer and stronger shoes.

The agreements signed today were all “roll overs” of existing contract articles from previous hard-fought wins. We preserved language that recognizes additional professional skills for Unit 11 employees, including:

  • The water treatment differential paid to qualified employees at the California Department of Water Resources (DWR).
  • The educational and construction differential paid to qualified employees at CalTrans and DWR.
  • The footwear allowance paid to employees at DWR and CalTrans.

While several economic proposals remain that require further negotiations, those bargaining sessions will continue on a daily basis.

As we press the state for a fair contract, continue to support your Unit 11 team and your fellow Local 1000 members by standing up in the workplace and making your demands for a California for All.
