Volunteer to Get Out the Vote for the Georgia Senate Races Today!

Post

This year, tens of millions of Americans came together in one of the most important elections in a generation. After months of campaigning, hundreds of thousands of volunteer calls, texts, and emails, we watched votes come in from various states, slowly solidifying into a victory for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. And in the midst of a global pandemic, we learned the valuable lesson that electing the right leadership can hinge on several thousand votes.

Now that the campaign for the executive branch is over, two vital U.S. contests remain in Georgia, a state that flipped blue by a narrow margin in the presidential election. Whoever wins these seats will help determine the balance of power in the Senate, and in turn have a major impact on the ability of President-elect Biden’s administration to put into practice the reforms and Union values needed for a national recovery. Your brothers and sisters at Local 1000 are committed to fighting for working people and working-class communities in California that need and deserve federal support, but we need your help!

You can join that fight by contacting your fellow SEIU members and citizens of Georgia about the importance of this election. To volunteer for a phone banking shift and help spread the word on our union positions regarding the candidates and the elections, sign up here.
