Working on our Wellness with Help from Kaiser Permanente
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how important it is that we take active care of our health as well as the health of our communities. As vaccinations roll out and more and more people are protected, we must keep up the fight for better and more accessible healthcare to ensure we are all safe. SEIU Local 1000 has been part of that fight for a healthier California by demanding better care, greater accessibility, and lower health care costs. And that’s why we’ve partnered with Kaiser Permanente to launch a wellness program for Kaiser members who are also SEIU Local 1000 members.
SEIU 1000’s work to control rising healthcare costs, ensure quality of care, and pass on any savings to our members begins with learning more about what challenges members are currently facing. As part of this effort, we created a Total Health Assessment (THA) to see what’s impacting our members’ health and to point everyone toward resources to help reduce stress, quit smoking, increase physical activity, and to get more out of life through greater wellbeing.
Running until August 31, 2021, SEIU Local 1000’s Total Health Assessment program offers the following rewards:
- A $75 reward when you complete the Total Health Assessment
- A second $75 reward when you complete 3 missions
- Up to $150 per member or $300 per family
- A customized action plan to help you make healthy lifestyle changes
During the reward period, members can earn each reward card one time. Reward cards expire 12 months from the date issued.
The program is open to all SEIU Local 1000 members who are Kaiser Permanente subscribers and their spouses or domestic partners who are Kaiser Permanente members, 18 and older, and covered by the CalPERS health plan from Kaiser Permanente.
