SEIU Local 1000 has learned that the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) plans to close the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Norco by October 2026.

While details are still emerging, SEIU Local 1000 is actively gathering additional information from the department and working to understand the full impact of the closure. At the same time, the union is already strategizing ways to support the state workers we represent who may be affected by this announcement.

“Our priority is protecting members’ rights, making sure communication is clear, and bringing the voices of impacted workers into every step of this process,” said Anica Walls, President of SEIU Local 1000. “We’ll keep fighting to ensure fair treatment and meaningful support every step of the way.”

As more information becomes available, SEIU Local 1000 will provide timely updates via email and on our website at www.seiu1000.org. We encourage represented employees to ensure they are receiving union communications by signing up for email and text alerts.
