SEIU Local 1000 is presently in the process of recalibrating our respective programs and establishing new partnerships aimed at the continuation and expansion of our apprenticeships. Accordingly, applications are not presently being accepted for the apprenticeship programs listed below. We look forward to providing more apprenticeship opportunities and facilitating additional cohorts of our non-traditional civil service apprenticeship programs in the future.
With a mind toward fulfilling our purpose statement union has worked to create new and innovative apprentice program opportunities. In 2015 SEIU Local 1000, in partnership with the State of California and local community colleges piloted non-traditional civil service apprenticeship programs aimed at providing our members with valuable career development opportunities for in-demand occupations. SEIU Local 1000 is very proud of the growth in our programs over the past decade. SEIU Local 1000’s career development offerings span a dozen occupations in six distinct apprenticeships and covers multiple industry sectors. SEIU Local 1000’s apprenticeship portfolio has historically included the following programs:
