During Pride Month, we celebrate leaders who are helping build a stronger, more inclusive labor movement. SEIU Local 1000 member Edward Escandon was recently appointed Chapter President of the Pride At Work Los Angeles Chapter, a recognition of his dedication to worker advocacy, LGBTQ+ representation, and member engagement. As an active member of our Lavender Committee and a union steward, Edward has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering workers, developing future leaders, and ensuring LGBTQ+ voices are represented both in our union and throughout the broader labor movement.

Congratulations to Edward on this well-deserved appointment. His leadership reflects the strength, dedication, and growing impact of LGBTQ+ union members and highlights the important role worker leaders play in advancing equity, dignity, and opportunity for all.
