California State Payroll System Project
SEIU Local 1000 representatives are meeting with CalHR discussing the California State Payroll System Project (CSPS). CSPS is just beginning and will take time to develop. When this new system is implemented all State workers will eventually move to being paid biweekly instead of monthly.
The current human resource management and payroll systems are antiquated and the State is attempting to modernize this for all 285,000 state employees. The vision is for payroll to become more efficient and beneficial for all state workers.
Employees have time to prepare for CSPS. Coordinate your families financial payment schedules and begin to adjust it to 26 paychecks versus the 12 paychecks you currently earn. This process will help to alleviate stress.
We plan to update this page periodically and we will be sending out emails to all represented employees after each meeting. Please find more information on the CalHR Website: CalHR CSPS Project FAQ Page. and also the State Controller’s Office Website: SCO CSPS Project page.
