On July 26, SEIU members across all 50 states are coming together for the Families First Day of Action—a nationwide call to protect care, education, and dignity for working families. We’re standing up against harmful budget cuts and policies that threaten our communities and the services we rely on.
This fight is personal. Cuts to healthcare, education, childcare, and food assistance don’t just show up as numbers—they show up as closed clinics, empty classrooms, and struggling families. But we’re fighting back.
Why It Matters to SEIU Local 1000
Our union knows what it means to take action and win. When the Governor proposed canceling our 3% raise, we fought back—and our side letter victory proved the power of collective action. But that fight isn’t over. As the state continues to seek budget “solutions” on the backs of workers, we must stay engaged and united.
We choose families first. Not corporate interests. We’re organizing for a future where every family has what they need to thrive—no matter their race, background, or income.
