Our bargaining team did not meet with the State today but is on standby to meet and negotiate with CalHR on a moment’s notice.
Last week, we did not reach tentative agreement with the State. Besides our pay raise, there are a number of issues remaining to bargain over at the master table as well as at the bargaining unit level.
As we work to bring home a good contract, our remaining negotiations will happen on an ad-hoc basis as both teams work to reach an agreement.

When we meet at the master table, or at any one of the 9 bargaining unit tables, we will issue a bargaining recap, often on the same day. These recaps are emailed and posted to the Contract Action Central web page.
It’s important for you to know that our current contract remains in effect with all your protections in place. We will continue to bargain with the State while exploring every option available to win a new contract. Take the time to watch this video update from Irene Green, Vice President for Bargaining.
We’ll be escalating our actions to win a new contract in the coming days, and we hope you’ll join the fight … here’s something you can do right now: Call the decision-makers at CalHR.
The State stands firm on their 6% offer. We’re fighting back, and we need every state employee to support our negotiations, by calling and emailing the members of the State bargaining team listed below.

Your message should say: “My name is______. I’m a member of SEIU Local 1000. CalHR’s counteroffer of 6% is shameful and doesn’t come close to what we need to survive in CA. As dedicated and hardworking state employees, we ask that CalHR agree to a raise that allows us to provide for ourselves and our family”.
Voice mail will fill up quickly. If the voice mail is full, please send an email, text, or tweet
