Our Union team met again with the state regarding the financial aspects of the Voluntary Transfer Process (VTP) on Thursday November 10th. Throughout the negotiations regarding the VTP, the state did not move from their initial relocation support payment of $1,500. Our team knew that number was not enough to fully support the needs of our impacted employees in Lassen County, choosing to extend negotiations in an attempt to secure more financial support for our represented employees.

Our team fought hard for our members, but the state could not be moved to increase their initial $1,500 offer for relocation support. While this number is disappointingly low, our team finally agreed to that amount to ensure that those moving their residence as part of the VTP would have some financial support.

Deadline approaches to turn in your VTP packet

VTP packets were distributed to eligible employees on Monday October 31st and employees have until Friday November 18th to return their packets. If an employee turned in a packet already and wishes to amend or revoke their VTP option, they must take those steps prior to the November 18th due date.

A signed copy of this and the overall Voluntary Transfer Process agreement will be posted on our website once we have gathered all the necessary signatures. If you have any questions about these agreements, or closure activities generally please direct them to [email protected]
