Take Action to Unrig California

Corporations Have Rigged California: Stockholders Thrive While Workers Struggle
Californians are struggling to pay the bills: rent, medical bills, groceries, child care, and more. Working people have reached a breaking point, and Trump and his MAGA Congress have made it worse by passing cuts to services we need so they could hand corporations hundreds of billions of dollars.

Nationwide, corporate profits boom & workers’ share decreases

    • Corporate profits hit a record $1.87 trillion in 2024.
    • Yet workers’ share of this vast wealth has decreased to the lowest point since 1947, when the federal government began tracking it.
California workers’ struggles will worsen, and corporations will get even wealthier because of Trump
    • HR 1 cuts to Medicaid could take away healthcare from 2 million Californians, and, with the expiration of ACA subsidies, another 660,000 Californians may lose healthcare.
    • Nearly 5 million Californians enrolled in CalFresh could have their benefits reduced.
    • Yet corporations are projected to receive $900 billion over the next decade from Trump’s tax cuts.
Unless California’s leaders step up and take action to fight against the new federal cuts and to unrig the rules, life in our state will get a lot harder for a lot more working people.

What is Unrig California?

2️⃣ Act Now: Demand Corporations Pay Their Fair Share

Tell California leaders:

Stop The Corporate Freeloaders

California workers and consumers built the 4th largest economy in the world. But while Californians struggle with rent, healthcare, and soaring costs, the world’s biggest corporations are getting a free ride that’s about to get even bigger – thanks to Trump’s corporate tax cuts – paid for by cuts to health care, food assistance and schools.
They shift their profits to Wall Street stockholders and hide it in offshore tax havens. They effectively dump their employees’ healthcare costs onto taxpayers. They rig the rules to pay virtually nothing – while our schools and safety nets crumble.

 3️⃣ Join the Movement

In 2026, we will campaign to close at least one major loophole and require a corporate contribution for workers on Medi-Cal.
In 2027 and 2028, the coalition will determine additional steps to balance our economy and support working people.
