Laying The Groundwork to Fight for What We Deserve
Thursday, April 30, 2026
Bargaining Unit 4, representing office and allied workers, including office assistants, secretaries, data entry staff and more, officially started bargaining with the State on April 28 as part of our fight for what we deserve in our 2026 Contract. This first meeting focused on introductions and laying the groundwork for the important work ahead. With over 130 combined years of experience in state service, your Unit 4 Bargaining Team is prepared to work tirelessly to protect the rights, working conditions and future of Unit 4 members statewide.
“We’re ready to engage constructively, listen, and work towards solutions. We’re also here to advocate firmly for the needs of Bargaining Unit 4 employees. We deserve a contract that reflects both the reality of today and the promise of a strong tomorrow.”
– Karen Jefferies, BU 4 Chair
