Bargaining Unit 4 met with the State on Thursday, May 7th. At this meeting, our bargaining team successfully reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) on DMV Permanent Intermittent (PI) Post and Bid. This important win for PI employee career growth eliminates permanent disqualification for employees who previously had to decline an appointment.
“Justice, fairness, and equity dictated this change ensuring no one is excluded from future opportunities.”
—Hope White, BUNC Bargaining Team Member
We’re proud to have secured this important TA for our members. However, the State rejected our initial proposal regarding expanding Upward Mobility. The State says they value their workforce, but yet they do not find value in investing in our development and work-life balance. Our Unit 4 bargaining team remains committed to pushing for member priorities like Upward Mobility and we’ll continue fighting tirelessly to move these issues forward.
Unit 4 will meet with the State again next Tuesday and Thursday. Check your inbox next Thursday morning for more detailed updates and ways to get involved!
