Bargaining Unit 4, representing office and allied workers, continued bargaining with the State last Thursday, April 30th and this Tuesday, May 5th.

Last week, we successfully secured language protecting Unit 4’s DMV & DDSD Joint Labor Management Committees as well as the Upward Mobility Task Force. These meetings are vital to upholding a working relationship with management and allows Unit 4 employees to address workplace issues effectively throughout the year. Our team also secured rollover of Section 1.2.4 Designation of Confidential Positions.

In addition, our Unit 4 bargaining team is fighting hard to secure agreements on the following proposals:

  • Lottery Bonus Increase
  • DMV Field Office Vacation Scheduling to ensure fair, equitable, and consistent vacation scheduling for all offices across the State.
  • Changes to Permanent Intermittent Conversion Language at the DMV eliminating permanent disqualification for turning down an appointment.

FROM THE TABLE:

“Lottery Ticket Sales Specialists are the driving force behind the lottery sales growth year after year. Increasing their bonus is a fair recognition of the critical role they play to help consistently deliver supplemental funding for our State’s public education.”

– Elizabeth Garcia, Bargaining Unit 4 BUNC
