Summer is here, and with it comes long days, warm nights, and a reminder of why many of us love this season. There is a certain beauty in summer that brings people together, whether that is time with family, community events, or simply taking a breath outside of work. As we enjoy the season, we are also stepping into what will be a hot union summer.

When we say hot union summer, we mean we are bringing the heat to the State. We are working hard to reach an agreement on a successor Contract and to make sure the State respects the voices and the wishes of the employees who keep our departments running. Unit 15 members deserve a fair contract, and we are committed to making that clear at the bargaining table and beyond.

I want to say how proud I am of everyone who showed up during the opening days of bargaining. Your presence mattered. It showed true solidarity and the real power of our union when we stand together. I also want to thank our subject matter experts who came to testify on behalf of Unit 15. They told the real stories of our members and shared personal experiences that helped move the table forward. Those voices made a difference, and they reminded everyone why this fight is important.

As we move through the summer, stay engaged, stay informed, and stay united. Together, we will keep the pressure on and continue working toward a contract that reflects the value of Unit 15 members.

In unity,

Eric Murray
Chair, Bargaining Unit 15
