Contract negotiations continue and state workers are making their voices heard.
Across our union, unit-specific bargaining teams are at the table fighting for the unique needs of their classifications and professions. At the same time, master table negotiations are shaping the pay, benefits, telework, and workplace protections that will impact state workers for years to come. The priorities members identified through our bargaining survey earlier this year are driving those conversations today.
But bargaining does not begin and end at the table.
Everything we’ve accomplished so far has been possible because members stepped up. You showed up at events, participated in actions, spread a sea of purple across worksites, and made your voices heard at every opportunity. Together, we’ve demonstrated something powerful: when state workers stand united, we can build the kind of strength that the State cannot ignore.
And we are not done yet.
The State is making decisions right now that will affect our working conditions and quality of life for years to come. That is why we must keep building on the momentum we’ve created. The work happening at the bargaining table must be matched by the power we build at our worksites.
Keep showing up. Keep purpling up. Keep sharing your photos and bringing coworkers into the fight. We cannot afford to be silent, and we cannot let the State think we have gone away.
This is what power looks like. We’ve already proven what we’re capable of when we stand together. Now it’s time to finish the job.

We deserve more than they offer and with this disaster economy & inflammations raising up daily need better pays and benefits.
Just an FYI from my point of view I highly recommend at some point in time not to let this go to far as getting no answer to our request. A question to membership how do you feel about a one day walk out.
The state is not negotiating in good faith. The Governor does not want a deal with the union or empower worker’s at all. We need to document everything and be prepared to strike.
Statewide Blackout! For one full day or days state workers show up at the capital to show the state what we are worth. Let the state run itself for a day or two. No state workers working for a day or two or more until the point is proven. State workers are tired of the raises we’ve been getting then taken away. Can we negotiate a raise that maintains with the cost of living? Forcing state workers to return to onsite, meanwhile our streets and highways are like off road tracks. We keep paying gas taxes and road conditions aren’t getting better. I am tired of it all and I’m drowning in debt.
Regarding telework. If we telework the benefit we are and do bring to support our own business in our own counties we live in. We’re saving pollution by less cars there is less traffic. Gas is so expensive. There increasing parking garages. Its all expenses for the employees. Especially when we can do our jobs from hm why not. We need to support our own counties that we live in also. Everyone comes in 2 days like it is. The businesses are running do to everyone coming in different days to work.
