This week, our Unit 11 Bargaining Team continued pushing for stronger compensation, workplace protections and recognition for the specialized work Unit 11 members perform across multiple departments statewide.

Key Compensation Proposals Advance to Main Table

Several important compensation-related proposals will advance to Main Table negotiations for further consideration by the State.

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Pay
The team continues pushing for improved compensation for members who are required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License as part of their job duties. These positions often involve increased responsibility, ongoing certification requirements and additional safety obligations that deserve stronger recognition in the contract.
  • Pest Control License Differentials
Discussions also continue around compensation for employees who maintain Pest Control Licenses and perform specialized work involving pesticide application, environmental safety and regulatory compliance. The bargaining team will continue emphasizing the importance of recognizing the technical knowledge and certification requirements associated with this work.
  • Transportation Engineering Technician and Phlebotomy Differential Proposals
The bargaining team advanced proposals related to Transportation Engineering Technicians and Phlebotomy Differentials, focusing on compensation tied to the specialized technical and medical work these members perform. Discussions will include recognition for the skills, training, certifications and responsibilities required in these classifications.
  • Special Salary Adjustments and Long-Term Differentials
The bargaining team will also continue discussions tied to broader compensation issues impacting Unit 11 members, including Special Salary Adjustments (SSAs) and Long-Term Differentials as negotiations move forward.

Across all of these proposals, our team will keep pushing for stronger compensation and better recognition for members who maintain specialized certifications and perform highly technical work on behalf of the State.
