On Wednesday, August 21, the Unit 14 bargaining team signed a “roll-over” tentative agreement (TA) that ensures Digital Print Operator IIs will continue to receive their Skill Pay Differential of 3 percent for operating the HP 10000 Digital Press at the Office of State Publishing.
Earlier in the bargaining process state negotiators had indicated that they were interested in taking away the differential on this provision. However, on Wednesday morning they agreed to drop any new proposals and signed the “roll-over” language.

“I’m glad we were able to secure this important differential,” said Robert Vega, Unit 14 chair. “Now we’re focused on bringing home a good contract for all of our members.”
The balance of the Unit 14 proposals that remain to be worked out will be taken up in the coming weeks.
