Our Union team met and conferred with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 regarding their plans to implement return to office guidance requiring employees to work in-office four days a week.
In our discussions our team raised concerns from our represented employees who are impacted by this shift back to working in-office after multiple years of successfully working remote centered.
We learned managers and supervisors are able to provide employees with flexibility in scheduling in office days.
Employees are able to request a change to their worksite headquarters by filling out an in-office exemption form.
This table remains open and we are scheduling a second meeting to continue negotiations with the department.
This meeting is just one part of our ongoing work to push back on sweeping return to office requirements being placed on SEIU Local 1000 represented employees. Please see our SEIU Local 1000 website to find out how you can get more involved in our Union’s fight to retain telework for our represented employees.
