This week at the bargaining table, your Unit 11 Bargaining Team pushed forward proposals that directly impact your pay and working conditions:

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Pay
Fighting to increase compensation and improve reimbursement so members see more value in their take-home pay
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing Updates
Proposing updates to align with federal standards, including a shift to saliva testing for more accurate and timely results
  • “Double-Back” Shifts
Addressing situations where workers are required to return with limited time off between shifts. We are pushing to stop the misuse of “operational need” and strengthen protections, especially for Plant Quarantine Inspectors impacted by ongoing staffing shortages
  • Fair Pay Proposals
Continuing the fight for fair pay for Unit 11 members, with proposals aimed at ensuring your compensation reflects the work you do and the value you bring to the State

These proposals are part of ongoing negotiations for Bargaining Unit 11, representing workers across departments including Caltrans, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Department of Water Resources and the Department of Food and Agriculture.

This week’s proposals reflect the real issues members are facing on the job, and your bargaining team is continuing to push forward to win the strongest possible contract.

We’ll share more detailed updates as negotiations continue, so be sure to watch your inbox every Thursday morning for the latest bargaining news and ways to stay informed and engaged in this fight.
