As we open our first Unit 15 newsletter of 2026, I want to start with gratitude. Thank you for standing with the team and for the hard work you do for the State of California every day. Your commitment keeps this unit strong, and it sets the foundation for everything we are able to do together.

We are entering the new year with purpose. We are springing into action as we prepare for our next contract. This contract campaign is important for all of us, and the work we put in now will shape what we are able to win at the table.

Thank you to everyone who took a few minutes to complete the bargaining survey. Your input matters, and the team has been reviewing your responses and using them to build our game plan for Unit 15. We are excited and a little nervous at the same time, which is normal before a major campaign. But we also feel confident because we know you are with us in solidarity.

This is the time to get active. It is important for the state to see that Unit 15 workers are paying attention, engaged, and ready to stand up for the rights and improvements we need in this contract. When we show up together, we have power.

Call to Action
As we move into bargaining, we need you with us. Please take part in any actions the team calls for while we are at the table. Attend rallies, join solidarity breaks, and participate in any other actions we roll out during this campaign. Stay interactive with us when we call, email, or text asking for support. Your involvement makes all the difference, and it shows the state that Unit 15 is united and ready to fight for a strong contract.

Thank you again for your support. Let’s move forward into 2026 with focus and unity. We got this.

In solidarity,

Eric Murray
Chair, Bargaining Unit 15
