CDCR announces next facility closures

SEIU Local 1000 learned this week that the planned closure dates for two California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Institutions have been officially announced.

California City Correctional Facility will be scheduled to close in March 2024 and Chuckawalla Valley State Prison will be scheduled to close in March 2025.

Our Union is committed to putting forth the same effort to reduce the impact of these closures on our represented employees as we have in prior closures and deactivations.
