Update on Meeting with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Regarding Implementation of Dayforce Timekeeping
On Monday, September 26, 2022, our Union met with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to gain additional information about their intent to implement the use of the Dayforce timekeeping system in early October. We became aware of this intention when many of our DMV member leaders shared information from the Department regarding the system. SEIU Local 1000 only received anything official from the Department after our Union reached out to seek additional information.
Bargaining Unit 15 CDCR Food Service JLMC Meeting Update

SEIU Local 1000 / DSS Meet and Confer Update
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, SEIU Local 1000 held a meet and confer with the Department of Social Services (DSS) regarding the notice received on the Updated Telework Policy.
We used this meeting to address concerns that the telework stipend form is one pretext towards eroding Bargaining Unit 21 Fair Labor Standards Act-exempt (FLSA-exempt) status and the provisions we have in our Contract (Articles 19.19.21 and 19.19.21(a)).
FTB Notices of Return to Office, Telework and COVID Prevention Plan
Meet and Confer Update
On Thursday, August 25, 2022, our Union met with The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) to meet and confer on FTB’s notice of the updated Telework Policy, the most recent update to the Return to Office Plan and update to the COVID Prevention Policy. This meeting is one of many meet and confers we’ve had starting in 2021 - particularly on the Return to Office Plan and Telework.
Unit 15 Upward Mobility and Career Development (JLMC)
Meeting Update
On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, our Local 1000 Bargaining Unit 15 Statewide Upward Mobility and Career Development Joint Labor Management Committee (JLMC) met with CalHR, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Department of General Services (DGS), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Department of State Hospitals (DSH), Employment Development Department (EDD), and California Department of Veteran Affairs (CalVet) to continue to discuss the current status of upward mobility and career development programs and to plan for future steps.

Update on recent meetings of Bargaining Unit 3’s 5.19.3 Classification and Compensation Committee
Over the last couple of months, our 5.19.3 Committee has met with the State to discuss ongoing concerns that the Unit has related to workload, strategies for addressing vacancies within the Unit at OCE, opportunities for our DJJ employees, and ways to address the long-term high vacancies among librarians.
