SEIU 1000 Environmental Committee Participates in Sacramento Earth Day
On Sunday, April 23, 2022, the SEIU Local 1000 Environmental Committee sponsored the Sacramento Earth Day event at Southside Park, Sacramento. Sacramento Earth Day is the largest Earth Day celebration in the region, providing people with the knowledge and means to take care of our planet. The theme this year was GROW NATIVE. The event was free and thousands of attendees came throughout the day. SEIU 1000 Environmental Committee sponsorship included providing to event organizers Earth Day bookmarks to use to satisfy the city’s requirement to notify homes around the park.

Wednesdays are Purple Up! Days
We’re Stronger Together!
In less than a year, we’ll be bargaining a new contract. And as you know, when we’re stronger in the worksite, we’re stronger at the bargaining table. One of the ways we demonstrate strength is by Purpling Up in our worksites. It’s something we can all do whether we’re working from home, the office, or both.
Administrative Committees
Local 1000’s Administrative Committees provide support and assistance to our Board of Directors. They are comprised of state workers—our represented employees—who are selected by President Richard Louis Brown. These committees touch many parts of Local 1000, including its budget, board meetings, and our steward representation program, to name a few.
