You will have the option to opt out of this new plan if it does not make financial sense to you. BE SURE TO READ THE MATERIALS DSH SENDS TO YOU. Take note of the timeline you must respond to them by.
To make an informed decision, we strongly recommend reaching out to CalPERS, your retirement administrator at (1-800-CalPERS or the link below). They can help you compare the potential benefits of the new Safety Retirement Program versus the Classic Retirement plan you are currently enrolled in.
