Does not matter Pia does not do Howard mobility. And when we have a problem our union reps have better things to do
I’m all about upper mobility for better career path in that we need to write people that want to grow and want to become a better version of themselves.

Bring back T & D’S. Training and development allows for upwards mobility. It’s more feasible and cost saving than promoting hiring which cost roughly 6 to 18 months of wages, till the hiring and Training is done. And adjust the out of class as it’s only 90 days, when you need 6 months minimum for most experience requirements.

#1) yes
#2) I don’t know what the offerings are, but anything that can help me expand my knowledge of the state HR process, to include application, hiring references, etc., etc. I have all the experience I need. The states systems and protocols are really so confusing I usually wind up screwing it up four times till I call for HR expert to assist me.
#3) my immediate goals are one step ahead of my current classification, I would like to be a supervising correctional cook, or SCC
#4)CDCR
By the way, I think this is a brilliant idea, of the unions involvement in career advancement. It makes so much sense to have well trained labor, friendly individuals in the higher ranks.
I think it’s a wonderful idea for upward mobility with bargaining unit 15. We need to have more programs and access to computers for the custodians as well as everybody else we need to offer a chance for upward mobility, so therefore no one feels stagnated in their position…. It will be great to offer more opportunities to move forward in their careers….
