This week, your Unit 14 Bargaining Team continued working to protect the rights, pay structures and contract provisions members have fought hard to win over the years. This week, the team reached nine tentative agreements with the State, all tied to existing contract sections and protections already secured by Unit 14 members through previous bargaining fights.
Some of the key issues discussed this week included:
- Protecting Existing Skill Pays and Differentials
We pushed to preserve important differentials and skill pays tied to specialized work, equipment and job duties performed by Unit 14 members. - Classification Studies
We continued discussions tied to multiple classification reviews and studies expected to move forward into the next contract cycle. - Protecting Existing Rights and Contract Language
Several tentative agreements focused on maintaining current contract protections and preserving rights members already fought to secure.
While progress was made this week on existing contract provisions, the State still has not responded to the core economic proposals we presented earlier in bargaining. We will continue pressing the State for meaningful movement on the financial issues Unit 14 members care about most while defending the workplace rights and protections members have fought hard to secure over the years.
We’ll continue sharing updates as bargaining progresses, so be sure to watch your inbox next Thursday morning for the latest news and ways to stay informed throughout this fight.
