California Correctional Center/Susanville: Closure Update

CDCR has released more information about the planned closure of the California Correctional Center in Susanville.

Contract Enforcement: Protecting our Hard-Earned Rights

Our contract is a hard-won document that protects our wages, benefits, and working conditions and also includes hundreds of articles that govern how we do our work, schedule our leaves, and interact with our supervisors.

There’s a great future ahead: Read about our Apprenticeship Programs

At SEIU Local 1000, upward mobility is a Union Value. Since 2016, we’ve been providing a growing number of opportunities for our members in the form of ground-breaking apprentice programs in the areas of nursing, financial services, and information technology.

The California Labor and Workforce Development Agency plans to spend nearly a half-billion dollars on programs like Local 1000’s Apprenticeship Program —as reported in the Sacramento Bee.
