Over the past two weeks, our bargaining team has continued meeting with the State at both the Master and Unit bargaining tables. While we’ve reached a few additional tentative agreements that improve working conditions, the State still has not moved on the issues that matter most to state workers.
Despite California bringing in billions more revenue than originally projected, the State continues claiming there is no money available for state workers. They continue to reject our proposals on fair pay, affordable healthcare and telework that works.
Our bargaining team will continue making the case at the table. But history has shown that contracts aren’t won through logic alone. They’re won when workers stand together and build enough power that the employer has no choice but to move.
That’s why what happens away from the bargaining table is just as important as what happens at it.
Every member who attends a Holding the Line Informational Picket, every coworker who signs up for Strike School and every worker who joins our union sends a clear message: state workers are united, engaged and prepared to fight for the fair Contract we deserve.
