📹 Hear Updates Directly from Our Chief Negotiator

Our bargaining team is still at the table and our priorities haven’t changed. We’re continuing to fight for priorities that members identified: from fair pay, affordable healthcare and telework that works to unit-specific issues like eliminating mandatory overtime. While negotiations continue, the State has yet to move on these key issues — but neither have we.

The State wants workers to believe there isn’t enough money. The truth is, California has collected billions of dollars more in revenue than originally projected. The money is there. It’s time for the State to stop making excuses, make state workers a priority and come to the table ready to negotiate fairly.

We’re not looking for just any Contract. We’re fighting for a fair Contract state workers deserve.

Thousands of members showed up at our July 1 rally, and our bargaining team carried that energy straight back to the bargaining table. That incredible show of solidarity sent a powerful message to the State: this union is engaged, united and prepared to keep fighting. Keep that momentum going. Together, we’ll continue building the pressure until state workers get the fair Contract we deserve.

Although our Contract has expired, the protections we’ve won over the years remain in place while bargaining continues. Every conversation with a coworker, every member who gets involved and every action we take together helps strengthen our position at the table.

This fight isn’t over. In many ways, it’s just getting started. Over the coming weeks, members across California will continue holding the line through Informational Pickets, Strike School trainings and other opportunities to show the State we’re united. Every action we take together sends the same message: we’re not backing down until state workers get the fair Contract we deserve.
