Important Update on Bargaining Unit 1 Reclassification

Recruitment and Retention Process for SEIU Local 1000 Flowchart

EDD COVID-19 FAQs

Our contract is the agreement between SEIU Local 1000 and the State that outlines our pay, our benefits, and our rights! Our bargaining team is gearing up to negotiate a new contract and what we win depends on how strong and united we are.

Here are the priorities our Bargaining Unit 1 team is bringing to the table:

Fair Pay

We are committed to working hard to secure a GSI for all employees as well as exploring options for other ways to expand compensation for underpaid Unit 1 classifications.

Telework That Works

SEIU Local 1000 represented employees have demonstrated that telework can be productive and efficient, and we’re committed to fighting to maintain this benefit.

Career Development

We’re focusing on strengthening language that will ensure that Unit 1 represented employees have ample opportunities to develop our personal career path through training or apprenticeships regardless of the department we work for or the classification we’re currently in.

Addressing Workload Issues

Employees in classifications across Unit 1 are experiencing extremely high workloads, leading to burnout and exacerbating recruitment and retention issues across departments.
